Title: Finding Guidance Within: A 12-week Course for Moving From Fear to Self-Trust In Times of Uncertainty

Course Description:

We live in a world of change and uncertainty that can result in increased anxiety, sadness, and frustration.

Even in challenging times however, it is possible to connect more deeply with our true selves: the part of us that is wise, stable, and trustworthy—the part that always knows what’s best for us.

In this course, participants will learn strategies for building self-trust and tools for discovering inner wisdom. With this toolkit, participants can move from reaction to response, from fear to greater peace, from insecurity to confidence.

Agenda of Topics

Finding Space. Noise and busyness are socially acceptable ways to avoid reflection, but they prevent us from knowing ourselves. Through developing a personal mindfulness practice, participants will find space to hear their inner self and discover their own depths.

Unlocking Trust. We’ve received many messages throughout our lives that our inner experiences are less valid than the messages we receive from the outside world. In “Unlocking Trust,” participants will deconstruct the messages and habits that hold them back from trusting their inner wisdom, finding new freedom to express who they are.

Finding Wisdom in the Body. While society focuses primarily on thinking to make decisions, research supports that our bodies are rich sources of information and guidance. We can connect with our body’s wisdom through expressions of self-care. In “Finding Wisdom in the Body,” participants will utilize loving-kindness as one way to care for the body and access its wisdom.

Managing Fear. Statistics show that more people are experiencing anxiety than ever before, and its impacts range from increased interpersonal problems to lowered self-esteem. However, peace is available to us, even when experiencing anxiousness. In “Managing Fear,” participants will build emotional awareness of fear and learn tools for regulating it through mindfulness practices and personal reflection.

Managing Sadness. We receive many messages that we should always be happy—or at least pretend to be. However, sadness is a natural part of human experience, and when we accept it, it begins our process of healing. In “Managing Sadness,” participants will build emotional awareness of sadness and learn tools for healing it through mindfulness practices and personal reflection.

Managing Anger. Anger may be the most disruptive of any emotion; it can ruin a morning, or a relationship. However, anger also serves a purpose; it connects us to our values and reveals when boundaries are crossed. We can build emotional awareness of anger and learn to regulate it through mindfulness practices and personal reflection. With these tools, participants will experience anger as a guide without being overwhelmed by it.

Finding Wisdom in the Subconscious. Psychology and science tell us that much of our experiences and decisions are influenced by our subconscious and unconscious, but we need tools to access these levels of awareness. In “Finding Wisdom in the Subconscious,” participants will access deeper levels of awareness through engaging the power of imagination, creativity, and dreams.

Finding Wisdom in Synchronicity. We’re told that we are a separate self moving alone in the world, but when we establish our connection within, we also see the many ways the world supports our journey. In “Finding Wisdom in Synchronicity,” participants will learn to listen to the dialogue between their inner wisdom and their lives by uncovering and working with personal themes and symbols.
